Every public toilet on the national map is recorded against the kind of place it sits in. 20,860 of the 24,446 listings fall into one of the 17 categories below; the remaining 3,586 are filed under the map's catch-all "Other", which is not a category anyone searches for and gets no page here.

park toilets are far and away the largest group at 9,681 listings — 40% of everything on the map — while swimming pools record just 68. Each category has its own national page, and 115 state pages sit beneath them, built only where a state records at least five listings of that kind.
