Sports Ground Toilets in other states

Sports Ground Toilets in Western Australia: what the data shows

Western Australia records 227 of Australia's 2,099 public toilets at sporting grounds — 11% of the national total. That makes it the third-largest state total, behind New South Wales (1,023) and Victoria (340). They sit in 146 named towns.

Hamilton Hill (5), Wonthella (5) and Dunsborough (4) carry the most between them. Those 3 account for 14 of the 227; a further 96 towns record exactly one.

The list takes in Bridgetown Sports Ground on Les Woodhead Drive, Pingelly Recreation and Cultural Centre (PRACC), Pump Track and Mount Barker. Around Hamilton Hill the listings run to Cockburn Basketball Stadium, Bakers Square Changerooms and Enright Changerooms.

Of the 227, 144 have parking on site, 116 are recorded as wheelchair accessible and 45 have drinking water. They are 8% of the 2,767 public toilets recorded in Western Australia, and 5% of the round-the-clock ones.

116 of the 227 are recorded as wheelchair accessible — including Lathlain Oval and Crossing Pool 1. 4 are Changing Places facilities, with an adult-sized change table and a hoist — among them Margaret River Recreation Centre and McKenzie Pavilion. 5 open with an MLAK key, the national Master Locksmiths Access Key — among them Fletcher Park and Fraser Park. 19 need a key from the operator instead, which means finding whoever holds it before you arrive. 26 of the 227 have a baby-change table, and 25 of those sit at a site that is also wheelchair accessible.

68 of the 227 are published as open 24 hours — such as Cabaret Cave & North Oval 1 and Churchill Park Adelaide Street. 32 open in daylight hours only, 77 list variable hours and 12 follow the host venue's hours. Where set times are published, the earliest opening is 5am at Wembley Sports Park Pavilion (East) and the latest closing is 9pm at Karoonda Reserve. 4 are shown as closed on Mondays. 111 publish no weekly hours at all, so treat those as unknown rather than open.

None of them are recorded as charging for entry. Ovals, courts, clubrooms and grandstands all land in this category. A good number are unlocked only for training nights and fixtures, so a weekday visit is the least reliable. Every figure here is counted from the National Public Toilet Map, which operators and councils update at their own pace.
