Data Sources

Our primary dataset is the Australian Government’s National Public Toilet Map, published on data.gov.au by the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing. Where possible, we supplement it with local council information and community feedback.

Licence and attribution

The National Public Toilet Map dataset is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia licence (CC BY 3.0 AU), which permits reuse, including commercial reuse, provided the source is attributed.

Toilet location data on this site is based on the National Public Toilet Map, © Commonwealth of Australia (Department of Health, Disability and Ageing), used under CC BY 3.0 AU. The data has been reformatted, geocoded into suburb pages and filtered by facility type for presentation here. Those modifications are ours, and neither the Department nor the Commonwealth endorses this site or the way we present the data.

Accuracy and known limits

We did not survey these toilets ourselves. Opening hours, accessibility features and MLAK details are recorded inconsistently across councils, and a missing field means “not recorded” rather than “not present”. Records can also be out of date if a facility has since closed, moved or been rebuilt. Please verify before relying on a listing, particularly for accessibility needs — see our Terms of Use.
